Key revisions to IS 16102 (Part 1): 2026:
Rated input power of the light source has been expanded to 60W.
New photobiological safety testing requirements have been added.
New requirements include LED lamps with non-removable rechargeable batteries.
New anomaly testing requirements have been added.
New intrusion protection testing requirements have been added.
New marking requirements have been added for light bulbs that are not suitable for contact with water.
New marking requirements have been added for photobiological safety markings.
New testing requirements have been added for the axial strength of screw-in lamp holders.
Testing requirements for fault conditions have been revised.
