I. Scope of Certification



All radio transmitting equipment (components, products) manufactured, sold, or intended for import in China are subject to regulation. Products must complete SRRC certification and be marked with a CMIIT ID before being sold or used in China.


The certification is categorized by function as follows:


Public Network Mobile Communication Equipment


Dedicated Communication Equipment


Wireless Access Equipment


Broadcast Transmitting Equipment


Radar Equipment


Navigation Equipment


Satellite Communication Equipment (including terminal earth stations) Radio Transmitting Equipment


Public Network Mobile Communication Modules

Other Equipment


II. Certification Cycle (Example for Bluetooth/WIFI Products):


Overall Cycle:


Expedited: 8-10 weeks


Non-Expedited: 12-16 weeks


1. Prepare application documents,


Submit, Formal review/pre-testing


(1-2 weeks)


2. Product acceptance, arrange sample delivery (CMIIT can be obtained beforehand at this step) ID)


3. Scheduled Testing and Upload Test Report


(Expedited: 2 weeks;


Non-expedited: 6-8 weeks)


4. Application Review


(2 weeks)


5. Issuance of Paper Certificate


(The issuance process is longer after the certificate version is updated, approximately 15 working days)


III. Sample Quantity:


Requirements vary depending on the product category; please refer to the testing organization's requirements for details.


General Bluetooth/WIFI Products:


- Embedded Module Without Certification: Conductive Sample * 5 (at least 1 complete sample required)


- Embedded Module With Certification: Radiation Sample * 1 (at least 1 complete sample required)


IV. Certification Nameplate Requirements


The nameplate must include the following:

VII. Certification Related Notes


I. Series Model Applications Must Meet the Following Requirements:


1. Embedded wireless LAN (including Bluetooth) or public mobile communication terminal (including NB-IoT, eMTC) restricted non-standalone operation radio transmission module


2. Products must be information technology equipment or household appliances


3. Simultaneously meet the following three requirements:


1) The product's purpose and function are completely identical


2) The product's appearance and shape are roughly the same (e.g., color variations) 1) Minor changes in product size or other appearance that do not affect the product's RF performance.


3) The "restricted non-independent operation radio transmission module" embedded in this series of products has obtained a type approval certificate.


II. Product Modification Scope:


1. Changes in the information of the original applicant (applicant company) of the certified product.


2. Changes in the information of the contract manufacturer of the certified product.


3. Changes in the quality system of the contract manufacturer (e.g., changes in production capacity, technical strength, quality assurance system, production line, or place of origin).


4. Changes in components.


5. After obtaining certification, the product has not been actually put into production and sales. 5. Changes to product information due to changes in national laws, regulations, or radio management policies:


Change applications require a third-party test report (issued by a laboratory authorized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; the list of laboratories is the same as for new applications). If a module is added to a series of models, the task must be assigned to the laboratory.


VIII. Example of reference cost (please consult international certification for specific costs):


Non-urgent: NA


Urgent:


General Bluetooth/WLAN products:


- Embedded module without certification: 10,000/model (regardless of standard)


- Embedded module with certification: 7,000/single module

EN IEC 62680-1-3/62680-1-2 EU Electronics Standards

To reduce e-waste, the EU is committed to promoting a unified charging technology and interface that supports a variety of electronic products. On November 23, 2022, the EU issued Directive EN IEC 62680-1-3/62680-1-2, requiring electronic product manufacturers to use USB-C charging interface technology in their products.
