Electric toys exported to the European Union CE-EN62115
The following is a summary of the core points of CE-EN62115 certification for electric toys:
1、 Standard Overview
EN62115 is a safety standard for electric toys developed by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC), applicable to all electric toys designed for children under 14 years old, including remote-controlled cars, electronic dolls, experimental toys, etc. The standard aims to prevent potential risks and ensure the safety of children's use through strict electrical, mechanical, and chemical safety requirements.
2、 Core security requirements
Electrical safety
Must have insulation performance to prevent leakage and short circuit
The battery and power supply must meet the requirements of overheating protection, such as short-circuit testing under abnormal working conditions
The working voltage shall not exceed 24V (DC or AC)
Mechanical safety
To avoid injury caused by sharp edges or moving parts, the casing must have sufficient mechanical strength
Small parts must meet anti swallowing requirements to prevent the risk of suffocation
Chemical safety
The migration amount of harmful substances such as heavy metals (lead, cadmium, etc.) and plasticizers in materials must comply with the limit values
Other requirements
The sound pressure level shall not exceed 80 decibels
Laser radiation and electromagnetic field risks must comply with additional regulations
3、 Test project
Certification requires passing the following key tests:
Electrical performance testing: Input power, heating and abnormal working condition simulation (such as short circuit), moisture resistance test
Mechanical testing: structural stability, sharp edge detection, soft wire wear resistance
Chemical testing: Detection of 19 migratory heavy metals and organic compounds (such as formaldehyde)
Identification verification: Product labels must indicate age range, power parameters, and warning information
