Philippine ICC Certification



Certification Introduction:


The Philippine ICC certification was established on August 17, 2007, by the Bureau of Product Standards (BPS) of the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, in an executive order No. 2007 series regarding mandatory Philippine national standards for audio, video, and similar electrical appliances.


The ICC system applies to imported goods. For imported products covered by the mandatory Philippine National Standards (PNS), after the imported goods have been evaluated by the BPS and found to meet the corresponding Philippine national standards or internationally accepted foreign standards, the BPS will issue an ICC certificate to the importer, allowing them to use the ICC mark. Imported products are subject to random sampling inspections. In addition, the Philippine Maritime Safety Administration conducts random market sampling inspections to ensure that imported goods meet the corresponding PS standard requirements.

Basic Certification Information:


• Mandatory: Yes


• Regulated Products: 8 categories of products including air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers, audio-visual equipment, washing machines and dryers, CFL compact fluorescent lamps, ballasts, double-ended fluorescent lamps, and single-ended fluorescent lamps.


• Imported products are subject to random sampling inspections; the Philippines also conducts random market sampling inspections.


Applicable Product Scope:


The Philippines imposes mandatory certification on 85 product lines that have an impact on health and safety or negatively affect the environment during use, including: electrical equipment/products, household appliances, building materials, safety matches, fire extinguishers, automobiles, petroleum products, and aerosols.


ICC Mandatory Certification List:


1. Household Appliances (Air Conditioners, Fans, Submersible Water Heaters, Kitchen Appliances (Blenders, Egg Beaters, etc.), Refrigerators, Freezers, Washing Machines, Dryers, etc.)


2. Lighting Fixtures and Related Products (CFL Compact Fluorescent Lamps, Ballasts, Double-Ended Fluorescent Lamps, Single-Ended Fluorescent Lamps, Incandescent Lamps, Lamp Holders, Christmas Lights/String Lights, Starters, etc.)


3. Wiring Devices (Circuit Breakers, Metal Wire Junction Boxes, Plugs and Sockets, PVC Tape, Switches)


4. Wires and Cables (PVC Flexible Wires, Thermoplastic Wires and Cables)


5. Machinery/Building Materials (Cement, Steel Pipes, Tiles, Iron Sheets, Flat Glass, Water Pipes, Fittings, Toilets, Bathtubs, Water Tanks, Washbasins, Wire)


6. Chemicals and Other Products (Fire Extinguishers, Lighters, Single Chairs/Stools, Brake Fluid, Gas Stoves, Vehicle Inner Tubes, Lead-Acid Batteries, Matches, Seat Belts (Windshields, Rear Lights, Side Seats, Car Tires)

To reduce e-waste, the EU is committed to promoting a unified charging technology and interface that supports a variety of electronic products.
