Thailand NBTC
I. Scope of Certification
Controlled Products: All wireless communication products
According to Thailand's Advanced Radio Communications Act, controlled products are divided into the following three categories:
Class A Equipment: Land mobile radio communication equipment (microphones, radio controls); satellite communication equipment (GMPCS); other types of radio communication equipment (vehicle-mounted radar); linear communication equipment
Class B Equipment: Amateur radio equipment; land mobile radio communication equipment; cellular mobile devices; maritime mobile radio communication equipment; aviation mobile radio communication equipment; wide area bandwidth wireless access equipment
SDoC Equipment: Equipment not listed above, subject to NBTC control, such as: general Bluetooth, WIFI products; SRD equipment
II. Certification Cycle:
From complete documentation:
Class A Registration: 3 weeks
Class B Approvel Certification: 3 weeks
SDoC Supplier Declaration of Conformity Certification: 3-5 business days
III. Sample Quantity: For products without special requirements, certification transfer is sufficient.
IV. NBTC Certification Marking Requirements:
- Warning Statement
1. Compliance Mark
Location: Product Packaging/Instruction Manual:
Content: (Class...) A/B mandatory, SDoC recommended)
“เครื่องโทรคมนาคมและอุปกรณ์นี้มีความสอด คล้องตามมาตรฐานหรือ ข้อกำหนดทางเทคนิคของ กสทช.”
(Translation: This telecommunications equipment complies with NBTC technical standards.)
2. Safety Warning Label
Location: Product packaging/instruction manual:
Content: Mandatory for products requiring SAR/EMF testing (i.e., for radio communication equipment whose electromagnetic radiation components are close to the user's head or less than 20 cm away from the human body during normal use); this label is not required if the product's RF output power does not exceed 100 mW EIRP (suggested to include).
“เครื่องวิทยุคมนาคมนี้มีระดับการแผ่ คลื่นแม่เหล็กไฟฟ้ าสอดคล้ องตามมาตรฐานความปลอด ภัยต่อสุขภาพของมนุษย์ จากการใช้ เครื่องวิทยุคมนาคมที่คณะกรรมการกิจการโทรคมนาคมแห่ งชาติประกาศกําหนด”
(Translation: The electromagnetic field strength of this radio communication equipment complies with the "Safety Standards for the Use of Radio Communication Equipment to Human Health" published by the National Telecommunications Commission.)
-Class A/Class B label (applicable to Class A/Class B devices)
Location: Product body/packaging/instruction manual
Composition: NBTC logo + device class (Class A/Class B) + NBTC ID
The NBTC ID consists of: (Grade A certificate number YYYYYY-ZZ) / (Grade B certificate number AAAAAA-BBB) + a four-digit ID (XXXX) assigned to the certificate holder by NBTC.
Acquisition method: NBTC issues these labels uniformly; unauthorized printing and use are prohibited. When products are imported into Thailand, distributors can apply to NBTC to purchase these labels. The label cost is 1 Thai Baht per label (excluding tax).
- License-Exempt Radio Communication Equipment Label (Applicable to all certified equipment)
Location: Instruction manual/packaging or as an add-on page inside the packaging
Obtaining Method: Templates are provided on the NBTC website; companies can use them directly.
V. NBTC Requirements for Certificate Holders:
A Thai company holding the certificate is required. It is recommended that the actual importer apply. If not, a local agent company can be used to hold the certificate.
This does not involve factories.
VI. Application Documents
-Importer Qualification Documents (can be ignored if held by a third party):
Power of Attorney (POA) of the Thai importing company
Copy of the signatory's ID card
Affiliation of the importing company
NBTC Supplier Card
VAT Certificate
NBTC Trade Permit
