What is GITEKI (TELEC) certification?
What is GITEKI (TELEC) certification?
GITEKI certification, commonly known as TELEC certification, is the same certification as the same product (simply different names) exported to Japan under the Japanese Radio Wave Law. Products with Bluetooth/Wi-Fi or other wireless functions must have TELEC certification.
GITEKI certification, MIC certification, and Technical Support Mark certification can all be considered equivalent to TELEC certification.
TELEC certification is a Japanese wireless certification that regulates wireless products, including those with wireless capabilities such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2G, 3G, and 4G. Examples include common mobile phones, tablets, wireless headphones, and Bluetooth speakers. TELEC certification does not require a local representative or local testing. The cost varies depending on the product's communication frequency band and module; specific costs are related to the channel and frequency band.
What products require TELEC certification?
WiFi 2.4G
WiFi 2.5G
Bluetooth
2.4GHz band
10GHz band
315GHz band
902-928GHz band
2G/3G/4G products
PS: 433MHz and 868MHz products do not require TELEC certification. Additionally, TELEC certification does not cover 2.9GHz and 5.8GHz for consumer use, so these are also not required.
What documents are required for TELEC certification?
1. Service Application Form
2. User Manual
3. Circuit Schematic
4. Block Diagram
5. PCB LAYOUT
6. PCB Placement
7. Operation Description (Explanation of the block diagram or circuit diagram)
8. Bill of Components (BOM LIST)
9. Antenna Report
10. Fixed-Frequency Prototype, Software, and Test Fixtures
11. ISO 9000 Certificate
TELEC Certification Timeline: 15-20 working days, approximately 3-4 weeks.
TELEC Testing Standards: TELEC's testing standards follow MIC (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, Japan) Notice No. 88, available at: http://www.tele.soumu.go.jp/j/material/test.htm. Updates and maintenance of the testing standards are also handled by MIC.
The testing items for WiFi and Bluetooth products are basically similar to the European standard EN300 328. For 2.4GHz WiFi products (802.11b/g, 2412-2472MHz) and Bluetooth products, the standard used is MIC Notice No. 88 Annex 43. However, for channel 14 (2471-2497MHz) of 2.4GHz WiFi products, separate testing and reporting using Annex 44 are required.
For 5GHz WiFi products (802.11a, 5180~5320MHz, W52 Band and W53 Band), the testing standard is Annex 45. However, it should be noted that information indicates MIC will soon revise Annex 45 to include 5.6GHz devices (Band W56) and impose stricter DFS testing requirements on the Band 56 band.

How should the TELEC certification logo be designed?
Customization based on customer's sample:
1. Sample size larger than the palm of your hand: MIC logo diameter 5mm;
2. Sample size smaller than the palm of your hand: MIC logo diameter 3mm;
PS: R indicates equipment type. The product type is noted on the certificate.
