EU ErP Certification
ErP certification is a certification requirement based on the ErP Directive under the EU CE marking system. The ErP Directive is a new European CE marking regulation, and as a CE marking directive, it now requires compliance along with other requirements such as the LVD Directive, EMC Directive, and RoHS Directive. Therefore, products subject to these implementation measures must consider the requirements of the ErP Directive before being exported to Europe to affix the CE marking.
The scope of ERP testing includes:
1. Energy-saving lamp ERP certification requirements: NO.244
2. AV products and IT products ERP certification requirements: NO.1275
3. TV products ERP certification requirements: NO.642
4. Set-top box ERP certification requirements: NO.107
5. Ballasts and fluorescent lamps ERP certification requirements: NO.245
6. External power supplies, adapters, and chargers ERP certification requirements: NO.278
ERP Certification Process:
1. Conformity Assessment:
• According to ERP directive requirements, manufacturers can choose one of two assessment modes for assessment: "Internal Design Controls" (ERP Directive Annex IV) or "Environmental Management Systems" (CRP Directive Annex V).
2. Compile and create Technical Documentation (TDF):
* Manufacturers must create technical documentation.
* The technical documentation should include information on design, manufacturing, operation, and final disposal of the product.
Details will be clarified through implementation measures for each product.
3. Issue a Declaration of Conformity (doc):
* Basic information
Directives and standards followed.
4. Affix the CE marking:
* Harmonized standard testing—EMC, LVD, etc.
* Affix the CE marking.
ERP Certification Cycle:
Standardly 2-3 weeks; expedited processing is available for an additional fee.
