The differences between E-mark and e-mark

The main differences between E-mark and e-mark are as follows:

1. E-mark originates from Regulation No. 10 issued by the ECE; e-mark originates from EU Directives 72/245/EEC, 95/54/EC, and 2004/104/EC.

2. E-mark uses a large "E" in a circular frame, while e-mark uses a small "E" in a rectangular frame.

3. E-mark is applicable globally but is not mandatory; member states can refuse to accept it. e-mark is applicable only to EU member states, and once an e-mark is applied for in one member state, all other member states must recognize the validity of the certificate—mandatory mutual recognition.

4. e-mark mainly applies to complete vehicles. E-mark mainly applies to components.
