Electric toys exported to the EU comply with CE-EN62115

The following is a summary of the core points for the CE-EN62115 certification of electric toys:

I. Standard Overview

EN62115 is a safety standard for electric toys developed by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It applies to all electric toys designed for children under 14 years old, including remote-controlled cars, electronic dolls, experimental toys, etc. The standard aims to prevent potential risks and ensure the safety of children through strict electrical, mechanical, and chemical safety requirements.

II. Core security requirements

Electrical safety requires insulation properties to prevent electric leakage and short circuits. Batteries and power supplies must meet overheat protection requirements, such as short-circuit testing under abnormal operating conditions, with a working voltage not exceeding 24V (DC or AC). Mechanical safety involves avoiding injuries caused by sharp edges or moving parts, and ensuring that the enclosure has sufficient mechanical strength. Small parts must meet anti-swallowing requirements to prevent the risk of suffocation. Chemical safety involves ensuring that the migration of harmful substances such as heavy metals (lead, cadmium, etc.) and plasticizers in materials meets limit values. Other requirements include that the sound pressure level must not exceed 80 decibels, and that laser radiation and electromagnetic field risks comply with additional regulations. III. Test items

Certification requires passing the following key tests:

Electrical performance testing: input power, heating and abnormal operating condition simulation (such as short circuit), moisture resistance testing. Mechanical testing: structural stability, sharp edge detection, cord abrasion resistance. Chemical testing: detection of 19 types of migrating heavy metals and organic compounds (such as formaldehyde). Label verification: product labels must indicate age range, power parameters, and warning information
