The export of wireless headphones to Japan requires METI filing (filing with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), which is a mandatory requirement based on the Electrical Appliances and Material Safety Control Law and applies to products that have obtained PSE certification. 1. Basic requirements for METI filing

**Filing Process**


Prerequisites Obtain PSE certification (diamond or circular logo) and test report Confirm Japanese importer information (business license, etc.) Prepare materials PSE certificate and test report (including test results of adapters/batteries, if applicable) English/Japanese manuals, specifications (including circuit diagrams, list of key components) Product images, label samples, and application form (filled in according to the PSE certificate content) Importer guarantee statement and copy of business license Submit for record The Japanese importer submits the materials through the METI online system to apply for record METI review cycle is usually 5-10 working days, and a record certificate will be issued after passing Subsequent requirements Mark the importer's name/ID and record information on the product or packaging The importer needs to complete the record declaration within 1 month after purchasing the product III. The relationship between METI filing and PSE certification: PSE certification focuses on product safety testing, while METI filing is an administrative registration. Both must be completed simultaneously. Is a Japanese importer required? The filing application must be submitted by a locally registered enterprise in Japan, and cross-border e-commerce businesses need to handle the filing through a cooperative importer. The validity period of the filing: METI filing has no fixed validity period, but if there are changes in product specifications or importers, re-filing is required. IV. Notes


Label requirements: Product labels must clearly display the manufacturer, importer, model, and PSE mark. Data authenticity: False declarations will result in the filing being invalidated and legal liability.
